2022 DCL Conference Report

MainImage2

The theme of our fifth Deeper Christian Life Conference was DAY MOVES: 1 Thessalonians in 3D. The audios from the conference will soon be available on the Network.

This is a closed conference for only those who are part of the DCL Network, hence it’s intentionally small (usually between 100 and 200 adults).

The conference was marked by creative ministry from Frank, sharing Christ in round tables by all who attended, group exercises, and lots of fellowship, interaction, and fun.

Testimonials and photos appear below:

For me, the 2022 DCL conference was jaw-dropping. Literally jaw dropping because God showed up and hugged me several times there. Sleepless at the end of each day, I had to admit to my soul that I simply didn’t have the words.

~ Steve

This was my wife’s and I’s first time at the DCL Conference. It was amazing! First, the way Frank shared with his narrative exegesis was so historically accurate and biblically plausible it brought life and light into 1 Thessalonians like I had never seen or heard before in a way that made us feel part of Paul’s journey! Second, the way the DCLN members reached out to us and to each other from the oldest to the youngest throughout the conference was truly FAMILY!! There were no agendas! No denomination talk! Only speaking life into and with one another! The breakout sessions and practical assignments were very instrumental in making this conference amazing too! We definitely plan on coming again!

~ Tony

This year I had a goal to go deeper in the word of God, and whilst I have an awesome pastor who preaches the word of God, I personally wanted to go deeper for my personal walk with the Lord. This conference helped me start on that goal! I will NEVER look at the Scriptures the same again after the narrative exegesis that Frank demonstrated over the course of this conference. Honestly, if your heart is open to receive and you’re hungry to learn, you will have many opportunities to learn something new. I appreciated that at this conference I did not have to focus on the superficial elements that I have experienced for years in other Christian conferences. I did not need to be so consumed with my outward appearance (which has cost me to spend more $, stress and anxiety). I was there to receive; I did that and more!

~ Ana

This year was the first year that I attended. I will never be the same. Frank delivered a clear narrative that not only helped us understand the meaning of Paul’s letter, but the depth of relationship between the individuals involved in the narrative. It encouraged me greatly. We experienced the revelation of Jesus that we had only read about, only heard about. We saw and experienced Jesus first hand.  Just like hearing the Gospel of the Kingdom for the first time was just the beginning of a deeper revelation of Jesus to me, the DCL Conference was just a taste, just the beginning of deeper revelations of Jesus to me. About halfway through the conference we had already experienced so much love and connection with brothers and sisters that when I asked my wife how she was doing, she started to get emotional and looked into my eyes. ‘I get it,’ she said.

~ Taylor

The conference was amazing! You have no idea how rare the kind of messages that Frank brings are. His approach is so powerful and so rare today. He unlocked 1 Thessalonians for us. I can’t wait for the master class so I can hear the messages again and listen to the rest of the series.

~ Jim

We both really enjoyed the way Frank brought the letter to the Thessalonians to life in such a unique, creative and powerful way. And I believe it prepared the way of the Lord to do His mighty work in our hearts during the group setting. I’ve never felt such an amazing and immediate unity with a group of like-minded people. There was no talk of doctrines or  what church you attend. Just a hunger to understand and grow in the Lord as much as possible. Together. As His body. Being rightly knitted together as He wills. It was life changing. Thank you for your wisdom to create space for the Lord to do what He loves to do. He did a deep work in my wife and myself. We’ll be attending this conference every year if the Lord sees fit to continue. Thank you for all you do and your obedience to His will. We appreciate you.

~ Todd

I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to attend the DCL conference this year! Frank’s diligent efforts to contextualize the New Testament letters of Paul reveals both their original intent and present-day application in a profound way. The effect this has had upon me is a rekindled desire to spend time reading the Scriptures. In addition, the group assignments and fellowship opportunities created an environment conducive to getting acquainted with other members of the network, and I believe that the continued communication and fellowship which is available through the network itself will make it easier to deepen these new friendships. My heart’s desire in attending the conference was that the Lord would gain more ground in my life, and He has certainly done so. Several days after the conference I’m still discovering hidden treasure in that new ground, and expect that I will do so for some time!

~ Mic

It was an invigorating weekend that left me desiring more of my Lord and more time with my fellow believers. It also opened up the story of 1 Thessalonians to me in a way that made every word feel personal, relatable, and understandable by giving us the backstory. This treatment of the text, like Galatians from the first conference, is so needed and I can’t wait to learn more about it and the other epistles. Even in this day of virtual everything, there is no way you can get close to replacing meeting with dozens of other believers who are yearning for Christ and seeing Christ in them, hearing Him speak through them and through Frank.

~ Justin

Ruth and I appreciated Frank’s research and creativity to give us insights into the day-to-day lives of Aristarchus, Timothy and Paul. That will forever impact our reading of Paul’s letters – especially 1 Thessalonians. This highlighted the incredible love that Paul had for the church and his willingness to endure intense suffering to bring them the message of hope and to strengthen their faith. This encourages us to an even greater expression of love and encouragement towards our own community of believers. The anticipation of being reunited with friends we have made from past conferences as well as meeting new friends encouraged our own spiritual walk. We were are united with the common goal of knowing Jesus more deeply and to be a living expression of his love! It also confirms that we are not alone in this journey as there are others who have same desire.

~ Brent and Ruth

I am still unpacking what the Lord revealed, but the conference has had, and continues to be having, a transformative impact on my wife and I, especially as it relates to ministry.

~ Jeffrey

This year’s conference was intimate and refreshing. 1 Thessalonians was unlocked by the Lord’s messages through Frank and I believe the theme and future content in the Master Class will be very timely in light of the times we live in. Also, edification at the tables and in between sessions was incredible. I’m excited to see how relationships established during the conference will play out through the rest of the year.

~ Colby

The highlight for us was making new friends from across the country. We were blessed to see how diverse the network is with young, old, middle age, Black, White, Asian, Hispanic, and all socioeconomic groups represented. The messages you brought on 1 Thessalonians were enlightening both spiritually and intellectually. Overall, it was a great conference and we look forward to being at the next one.

~ Glenn and Karen

I came to the conference this year expecting awesome things, and it didn’t disappoint. The highest praise I can give Frank is that he allowed the Holy Spirit to be in control, and that’s rare in many conferences these days. I have never experienced anything like this in the fact that people came together from all denominations and walks of life, but the thing that drew us close together was that Jesus was at the center – not a religion or denomination. It was like paradise for a few days, and I was greatly encouraged being around my brothers and sisters in Christ. I came back with a new resolve to do what God has called me to do and not allow people or circumstances to discourage me.

~ Cathy

What an indescribable joy it is to know our Lord on a deeper level—to more fully understand and grab hold of the amazing love He has for us! After many years of in-depth Bible study, stepping back to see the big picture of Scripture and learning the concept of reading one chapter alongside another to grasp the true context through the DCL Network has been a huge eye-opener for me. I’m so grateful for this ministry, and for the blessed opportunity the conference provided to gather with saints on the same journey. His presence in the room was undeniable!

~ Molly

This year’s Deeper Christian Life Conference was impactful in multiple ways. The messages brought forth opened up the letter to the Thessalonians by first introducing us in a real way to the people, places and situations surrounding that community’s reality. We were able to see what was happening in this rising church that informed the report given to Paul which provoked his response. The greater impact of this was that it created in those of us at the conference a love and deeper connection to our brothers and sister in Thessalonica. It changed the text from a random letter to a historic church and into a relevant appeal to us here and now. It brought the Bible to life in the sense that we were able to see that in many ways we are the Thessalonians and we need to bind together against spiritual corruption as children of the Day.

~ Shane

Paul’s letters are now coming alive to me.

~ Marilyn

My heart is so full of the love of God as a result of the conference. I stand amazed at our God for the work He did in me through the Day Moves conference. It started when a couple in our kingdom cell invited my husband and me to go with them to your conference. My husband was so excited to go and I reluctantly agreed. I dreaded the weekend and even asked God to do something that would let me out of going. Of course, that didn’t happen. I sat with my husband and friends, along with another couple, in the Thursday night session, dreaming of Sunday when it would all be over and I would be back home.

In spite of that dream, I also asked God to change my attitude and help me see and receive whatever He had for me. And then Frank dropped the bombshell, he said to sit with different people Friday morning! And so my husband and I did. And then in Friday’s morning session, he said we should eat lunch with them!! So we did. We met in the lobby, along with the new couple from Thursday. What we thought was just a chance meeting was truly God-appointed. They had gotten separated from the group they were to go with and I invited them to come along. In a matter of a couple of hours, over a meal, God changed me. He healed my heart and filled it with His love! No one had to lay hands on me (except for hugs!), no one prayed for me; they just loved me!!

At first, I didn’t even realize what was actually happening inside. For me, it was an incredible bonding by the power of love through the Holy Spirit with members of the body that I had never met before. But somehow, during lunch, I felt I knew them. Later, we exchanged contact information so we can stay in touch. Now, I didn’t want Sunday to come, I didn’t want to go back home, I didn’t want the weekend to end!

God was so merciful; He listened to the prayer that followed His will, not mine. He healed me by His love, LOVE!! I don’t even think the members of our group knew how mightily God was using them. They were just being “the body” doing what His body does. Please do not cease having these conferences. They are life changing.

~ Alicia

This was my first time at a Deeper Christian Life Conference. It was so wonderful to be around so many amazing and like-minded people who love Jesus and want to go deeper in their relationship with Him. I especially enjoyed connecting with people in a small group setting, whether at tables or at mealtimes, getting to know each other and sharing Christ together. Between that and the conference messages themselves, it was worth every effort to be there!

~ Amanda

I am truly blessed by the Deeper Christian Life Network. I am grateful for the lessons I have learned through Frank’s teaching, the testimonies, and the relationships I have built. The greatest impression on my heart was when we had a chance to pray through Paul’s prayer in 1 Thess. 3:11-13. In our group, we were reminded that God is the one who directed our path. Though many of us walked into the conference with uncertainties and hesitations, we saw how the Lord led us to one another. We ended up having encouraging and intimate fellowships with one another. We laughed, cried, and stirred one another on for the work of the gospel.

~ Ken

The conference was incredible. The messages on 1 Thessalonians were unlike any I’ve ever heard. The story telling was captivating. I also loved the humor. Each session made the letter come alive for me. It was really powerful.

Frank. I have read many of your books over the years and finally subscribed to your Deeper Life Network. After two months I finally logged in to start listening to the master class stuff. Really great stuff. The notes of Timothy and the lost diaries of Aristarchus are interesting to me. I would like to read this stuff on my own sometime. What are your sources? I cannot find anything online yet that seems like what you read. thanks for your ministry! Peter

The sources will be cited in my upcoming book The Untold Story of the New Testament Church: Revised & Expanded which should come out by 2026, the latest. The book is up to over 2,000 footnotes. So the sources are abundant.
